Restrict Text Messaging and Voicemails

You can easily restrict the use of text messaging and voicemails to only be sent to those whom you've manually approved.

When using the LinkU platform to send text messages and voicemails, you must make sure that you are sending them only to contacts who have agreed to receive such types of communications.

By default, text messages and voicemails will be sent to anyone subscribed or opted-in to a campaign.

This means texts and voicemails will be sent to those whom are marked as Unknown or Approved.

These may be people whom you've added to the campaign from a contact list, such as past clients, or prospects, or contacts that are imported, uploaded or synced to the LinkU platform from another system (such as Zapier, API, etc).

Anyone who requests to be removed, or replies 'stop', etc. will be marked as Denied.

If you are unsure if your contacts have opted in, or agreed to receive these types of messages from you, then we recommend enabling the Restrictive Text Messaging and Voicemail feature.

To enable the Restrictive Text Messaging and Voicemail feature, you can do so by doing the following:

  1. Login to the LinkU platform.

  2. From the left menu, click Campaigns (Follow Up).

  3. Click Configuration & Settings.

  4. Click Configuration Wizard.

  5. Click Next for each step until you reach the section Configure SMS.

  6. Check the box 'Yes! I want to restrict SMS & Voicemail Messages.'

  7. Click Next until you get to Finish.

  8. You must click Finish at the end to save your settings.

When this feature is enabled, texts and voicemails will only be sent to those whom you've manually marked as Approved. If a contact is NOT marked as Approved, then all SMS and Voicemail events will be skipped for that contact.

Creating Manual Tasks for Calls & Text Messages

You could replace your text message and/or voicemail events in your campaigns with task events instead. These task events would prompt you (via to-do list and/or Google Calendar) on when to send a text message, or make a phone call manually (we are working on adding this to our mobile app as well for an added ease and convenience).

Keep in mind, DNC rules may still apply here for promotional/marketing calls.
