You can actually receive and send e-mail just as you would with LinkU webmail, but using your favorite online e-mail service. This allows you to manage your e-mail all in one place, such as Gmail, or another similar online e-mail service.

You can use your Gmail or other e-mail service to send and receive your domain email address by setting up your domains email address as a POP3 and SMTP account at Gmail and other e-mail services.

Setting Up POP3 in Gmail
This article will explain how to set up Gmail to use your domain email address.

  1. Log into your Gmail account.

  2. Go to the Gear at the top right and select Settings.

  3. Click the Accounts tab.

  4. On the "Add a POP3 mail account you own" page, click Next Step.

  5. Enter your domain's email address and click Next Step.

  6. Enter your POP3 information for your domains email address in the form. Click Add Account.

  7. You will have a success message saying the email was added.

  8. You must set the email to send as well.

  9. You have the option of specifying your outbound email server and credentials, or setting the outbound messages to go through the Gmail server.
    Warning : If you choose to use the Gmail server, your emails will appear to come from your default Gmail account rather than from the specified email account. For example, the recipient will see ‘[email protected] on behalf of Tony Bradley' as the sender rather than just Tony Bradley, or just [email protected]

  10. To send through Gmail, select Yes, otherwise, click No, to send through our servers and follow the instructions.

  11. To use LinkU's outgoing server, you must enter the username, which is your full e-mail address and e-mail password, and the outbound server smtp.linkumail.com.

  12. You also must specify whether to use SSL or TLS encryption for outbound messages. If you just want to send unencrypted SMTP email, click the port drop-down list on the right side of the screen and choose 25--the default SMTP port. Then a new radio button choice will appear below for Unsecured connection along with a warning from Google recommending that you not send your email messages unencrypted.

  13. Click Save Changes.

  14. Now you will need to verify the email address is yours. Gmail will send you an email with a code.

  15. Click Send Verification.

  16. Check your domains email. You can do this in Webmail.

  17. Get the code from the email that Gmail sent you.

  18. Enter the code into the text box and click Verify.

  19. Now you will see your Domains email address in the Send Email As and the Check mail from other accounts section.
