When viewing mail on a monitor with low resolution, it could be difficult to view all the mail windows, including the message preview pane.
To disable the message preview pane:
Click on the layout icon located in the bottom grey toolbar on the far left.
Uncheck the box Message.
To enable the preview pane, do the same as above, except check the box Message.
